Production: Putting it all together
We started editing as we already had gathered all the clips and music we need. One problem was to pick a copyright free song that would represent all of the different scenes and moods. Another was the cropping of the scenes. Each scene, or take had detrimental parts that made it unique to the overall message but some pieces had to get cut short in order to fit the 2 minute time limit, and I had to crop out some of the beginning of each scenes. One thing that stood out in the editing process is that time it took to edit. In one day's worth of editing as there were more takes and shots to reconsider this time. Picking out the select few that would be in the film was a hassle. Some takes also had "good parts" other takes didn't so it had to cut out the bad parts and merge their good parts together. There were multiple different songs used and I had to cut those down as well. With all these components, it became harder to edit as my computer began slowing down which meant I had to come to a conclusion on which clips had to be deleted to save up ram and speed up my device. Although the editing process isn't over, I completed about 40 percent of the final project. I will dedicate the next editing session into transitions, clean ups, voiceovers with sound and other touch ups I may have not noticed the first time around.
