Genre Discussion February 21, 2021 For the past couple of days, my partner and I have been discussing what genre should we do. We couldn't choose right away at first because we had to discuss the pros and the cons of each genre. We had to choose out of thriller, drama, and action. (3) The first genre we had was the drama genre. The drama has stories with high stakes and a lot of conflicts. They're plot-driven and demand that every character and scene move the story forward. We both worked on this genre when we had the genre project, so we both had some knowledge about it. The pros of this genre are that we had the basics of it down, so the research could be kept to a minimum. This genre best fits the pitch that we choose in our earlier discussion. My Expirience On Wednesday, October 28th, I began my filming process and it wasn't as easy as I first anticipated. First, I had to first get the props and set them in their right place so that when I needed to use them there wouldn't be any hassle. After that, I began to film and soon realized filming wasn't really my best friend. The angles, the movement, and the lighting we're all different factors in each take and for this being my first time, I wasn't ready. In addition to that, there were a few mess ups that occurred and I had to end up reshooting the whole scene. I learned even a 30 second commercial can be complex if you really want to make it perfect. I used movement like tracking, close-shot, and long shot and angles such as high and low. Also, the background felt bland, I feel like I should've added more props to really capture the viewers attention.
